Laura Hill RVN
Laura is a registered veterinary nurse who started her nursing career at The Pines in 1998 – and has been here ever since! She qualified in 2001 and took on the role of head nurse in 2008. She is passionate about nursing and has a particular interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation of our patients. Laura has three young children, two cats and a pony that she’s had for 24 years.
Sarah Cowlard RVN
Sarah joined The Pines in September 2007 as a nursing assistant, enrolled as a student nurse in September 2008 and became a qualified RVN in October 2011. She has always loved caring for animals from a young age, and has kept a variety of small furries, poultry, waterfowl, aviary and game birds, dogs and wildlife since she was a little girl and the experiences and knowledge gained over the years continues to help her in nursing today. Outside of work Sarah is kept very busy at home caring for a menagerie of pets – bantams, call ducks, degus, fish and her rescue dogs, Jasper and Buster. She also enjoys history, arts and crafts, gardening, spending time with her family and exploring new places with her partner, Daryl.
Jenny Francis RVN
Jenny joined The Pines in November 2014 and completed her nurse training in 2016. She has a wide variety of pets, from dogs to horses, and enjoys taking care of them all.
Michelle Lane RVN
Michelle started her nursing career in 1998 and qualified in 2002. She has worked in a variety of practices over the years and after the birth of her daughter was looking for a practice closer to home. She joined the team at The Pines in March 2016 as a registered veterinary nurse. Michelle has a particular interest in preventative healthcare and nurse clinics, especially senior pet clinics. She has kept a wide range of animals over the years and her current collection of pets includes two dogs, two cats, three tortoises and a snake. Outside of work she enjoys baking, walking and swimming.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Shane started working at The Pines as kennel assistant in 2008, and became a full-time employee in 2009 after finishing his GCSE’s. Since then he has completed the animal nursing assistant qualification and started the veterinary nursing diploma in 2012. Shane has a passion for wildlife and has experience with rehabilitation of a variety of native British species already. Once qualified he would like to travel around the world nursing different species. He particularly enjoys emergency work and inpatient care. In his spare time, Shane enjoys hanging out with friends and going out for walks with his dog, Peggy.
Animal Nursing Assistant
Tamara started at The Pines in July 2016. She has been wanting to work as a veterinary nurse for years and decided that she would follow her dreams and move into the veterinary sector. Tamara is looking forward to progressing into her nurse training course and is very excited to be part of the team. At home she has a cat called Podgy.
